Hsibaw is a small town located on the northern Shan State traditionally ruled by the Sawbwa (chief/head man of a village/town) who inherited the title from his ancestors and who bequeathed the title to his sons. Haw (the palace of Sawbwa) is worthwhile to pay a visit and talk to a descendant of Sawbwa.
Hsibaw can be reached by car from Mandalay. You can notice the cool and pleasant atmosphere when you go up to the Shan Plateau. You can sightsee around Hsibaw such as tea plantation and different vegetations cultivated by the ethnic minority along the Myit Nge river.
